Adeline Alice (Tasso) Giannascoli, 98 , of Vineland , NJ passed away peacefully at home in the company of family on May 14, 2017 .

Adeline was born in Vineland, NJ on July 14, 1918 . She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1936 . She was married to Dominick Giannascoli and was the daughter of Edward and Adeline Bernadette (Pearsall) Tasso. Adeline was a lifelong and active member of Sacred Heart Parish.

Adeline was a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and was working during two major events in United States history at which time she recounted that "the switchboard lit up"– the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt . She became a full time homemaker and mother until her youngest child entered middle school. At that time she accepted a full time position at Sacred Heart Grammar School as the librarian. Known to the students as "Mrs. G", Adeline had a keen interest in encouraging the young students to develop a love of reading. She selected high quality children's literature for the library reserves, created attractive themed decorations for holidays and seasons of the year, planned activities for the students' assigned class times in the library, and assisted the students to research topics for class assignments and term papers. She enjoyed reading, gardening, keeping up with current events, sightseeing in various parts of the United States, and visiting with her children and grandchildren .

Adeline is survived by her children Brian Giannascoli, David Giannascoli, Karen Giles (Edward), Denise Link (Dennis), Lisa Spear (Michael), ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren .

Adeline is preceded in death by her husband, Dominick, brothers Daniel Tasso, Eugene Tasso, and Jeremiah (Jerry) Tasso, and daughter-in-law, Maria (Ferrucci) Giannascoli .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church 1010 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, NJ on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:00 am. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 9:00 – 10:00 am at the church . Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery on 741 E. Walnut Road , Vineland, NJ.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 1655 Magnolia Rd. Vineland, NJ 08361 or St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street Chamberlain, SD 57325 .
