Aida Melendez, age 60 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.

Aida was born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico to the late Teodosia Barreto and was a resident of Vineland for most of her life.  She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Vineland and enjoyed making jewelry.  Aida's grandchildren were the light and love of her life and she cherished every moment with her family.

Aida is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Nestor Melendez of Vineland.  Her two beloved daughters; Fidji Plaza and husband Arnel and Desiree Mercado and husband  Dennis, all of Vineland.  Her five precious grandchildren; Nathan, Izaiah and Leilani Plaza and Kaleah and Kylah Mercado.  She is also survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the request of the family, funeral services were held privately.  Donations in memory of Aida may be made to the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland, NJ 08360.
