Alberto Colon, age 79 of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home while resting on his favorite chair.

Alberto was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on June 6, 1941 and came to the United States at the age of 18 where he first started his roots in New York City. He then moved a few years later to Vineland, New Jersey and began his career as a presser. He worked in the Clothing Factory Industry for over 45 years until he retired from Crown Clothing of Vineland in 2010. Alberto loved and adored his son and daughter and two grandchildren. He had a love for fishing and going out to the ocean. He was a jokester who would brighten up the room with his smile.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rojelia Ramos and Pablo Colon and by his brother Juan Milagros Colon.

Alberto will be sadly missed by his beloved children; his daughter Antonia "Toni" Custodio of Rochester, NY and his son Alberto Colon Jr. of Vineland, NJ and his cherished grandsons, Daniel Custodio Jr. and Jeremiah Cortes of Rochester, NY. He is also survived by his former wife Nilda "Jackie" Gonzalez and by his brother Domingo Colon.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9th at 12:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather on Friday from 10:00-12:00 pm at the funeral home.
