Alcide T. Renaud, 82, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. Alcide, son of the late Alcide Joseph & Etta (Bowers) Renaud, grew up in Falls River, MA and graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School, class of 1954. He then served in the U.S. Regular Army in the late 1950's as sergeant and line cook. While stationed overseas in Germany, he was married to the late Shirley Renaud (Cero) in 1958.

Alcide was a kindhearted and patient man that left a legacy of love for all of his family to share. He was passionate about health, playing cards, and cherished his family. He enjoyed solving puzzles, especially his daily Cryptogram. He was consistently pleasant and cheerful, combined with a witty sense of humor that made him even more adored and memorable.

Alcide is loved by sons, Michael & William Renaud; daughter, Helen (Renaud) Oliva; four grandchildren, Jessica & Jim Renaud, and Dominique & Michael Alcide Oliva; foster parents the late William and Helen Leedy; and seven siblings including his late brother Roger Renaud & family, sister Theresa Renaud and family, and brother Richard & Cress Renaud and family; foster sisters Sandra Waclawski (Leedy) and Diana Reilly (Leedy), and brothers Tim and the late Jim Leedy. Alcide was pre-deceased by his wife Shirley of 45 years in 2003 and spent the last nine years with his sincerest companion Raffaelli Hofflinger and her loving family.

Family & friends are welcomed for a memorial service beginning at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Wainwright-Bernhardt funeral home, 1024 E. Landis Ave, Vineland, NJ . Burial will be held in the spring at Siloam Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deborah Hospital of Browns Mill, New Jersey, for their excellent care of Alcide throughout his lifetime.
