Alice Anne Dennis, Merritt, age 76, of Franklin Township,  passed away at Promedica Rehabilitation and Care Center in Washington Township on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

She was born in East Orange, NJ to the late William Merritt and Anne Ivans, and was raised in Belleville, NJ. She earned a B.A. in education from Jersey City State College. Alice resided and raised her family in Parlin, NJ as she worked in home healthcare, and as Activities Coordinator/Directors for nursing homes in Central NJ. She later pursued her desire to return to the classroom, teaching 1st Grade at Sacred Heart in South Amboy, NJ. Alice retired and moved to Franklin Twp., NJ where "Grammy" fostered her deep faith and continued love and support of her family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her son James (Trisha) Dennis and her daughter Holly (Vincent) Sorensen. Along with her three grandchildren, Andi, Julia, and Alyssa and her brother William Merritt (Maryanne) and nieces & nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 7 at 12 Noon from Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish; St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 253 Old Dutch Mill Rd.  Malaga, NJ. Family and friends may gather in the CHURCH from 11:00 AM to Noon.

Inurnment will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM from All Saints Cemetery; Mausoleum 1300 Tuckahoe Rd. Newfield, NJ 08344
