Alice E. Franchetta age 74 of Vineland, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in S.J. HealthCare, HospiceCare Inpatient Unit, Bridgeton. Alice was born in Vineland to the late Frederick and Florence (Burkhardt) Dougherty and lived in Vineland all her life. She graduated from Vineland High School Class of 1955. Prior to retirement, Alice was a switchboard operator then later purchasing agent/bookkeeper for Vineland Labs. of Vineland for 35 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Vineland. Alice enjoyed the Jersey Shore, reading, bowling, watching the Phillies, sharing time with her grandchildren and recently her puppy "Judge". Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, George L. Franchetta, son, Richard G. Franchetta and daughter, Vicki H. McDonald all of Vineland. 2 Grandchildren, Brandon McDonald and Rebecca McDonald at home. Also her brother, Daniel Dougherty and his wife Jeanne of Rhode Island. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland with Rev. Jeannette Block officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell. Visitation hours are from 9:00-11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
