Alice R. Noseworthy, age 97 of Vineland, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland.

Alice was born on November 28, 1919 to the late Frank and Jane (Ward) Ratcliffe in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She married Lester Noseworthy on August 18, 1952. Alice resided for many years in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.  Despite having polio in early childhood, Alice lived a full and interesting life.  She was an avid reader and loved music and the arts.  Alice was a wonderful conversationalist who could converse on variety of subjects even into her nineties.  She had a lovely sense of humor.  When offered the chance to have a nice meal out she thoroughly enjoyed herself.  At times she worked for a private detective and sang in public.  Alice traveled abroad visiting family in England.

Later in life Alice lived for a time in Florida before settling in South Jersey. She was a faithful and beloved member of the Vineland English congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She made many friends from the very young to the elderly.  In spite of her many serious health problems, she never complained, and tended to look on the bright side of life which made her a refreshing companion.

Alice is survived by her son Bruce R. Noseworthy of Fleischmanns, N.Y. and her two grandchildren Sylvia and Timothy Noseworthy, and great-grandson, Devin Noseworthy, all of Vineland.

Family and friends may gather Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, NJ 08360

Burial will be private.
