Altagracia "Altita" Tejeras, age 91 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2015 in Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland. Altita was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico to the late Claudio and Encarnacion (Rivera) Rosado and was a resident of Vineland for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 1985, Altita was employed by Progresso Foods for 24 years as a machine operator. Altita was very active in the Puerto Rican community and was a proud member of the Boriquen Social and Club Accion Social Puertorriqueno of Vineland. She was also involved in the Festival Puertoriqueno de Vineland, Inc., and a devoted member of the Divine Mercy Parish. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, dancing, singing, Novelas, and trips to the Casinos. Most especially, Altita loved to share time with her family and grandchildren. In 1992, Altita was given the title of " Mother of the Year" by the Festival Puertoriqueno de Vineland, Inc.. Altita was predeceased by her husband Frank A. Tejeras, her brother Angel M. Rosado, her 2 sisters; Leonilda Rosado and Maria Sanabria and by her grandson, Joel Medina. Altita is survived by her 5 loving children; her son Alfredo L. Lorenzana and wife Nelly of Vineland. Her 4 daughters; Itsia Ducharme and husband Frank of Sebring, Fl., Sonia Lorenzana, Elizabeth Medina and husband Freddie and Maria Nava, all of Millville. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather on Sunday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and again on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home.
