It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Andres Alvarez Lopez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Andres was born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico on August 20, 1931, and dedicated his life to loving and supporting his family. Andres was employed by Progresso Quality Foods for over thirty-five years where he was a dedicated first class cook. He passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, leaving a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
Andres was a proud husband to Dominga Gomez Lopez of Vineland, for more than forty years, a partnership built on love, respect, and shared joy. Together, they created a family filled with love and laughter. Andres found immense joy in simple pleasures, particularly playing dominos, fishing and spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He cherished every moment with them, and his presence will forever be etched in their hearts.
He leaves behind his four sons, Andres Lopez, Jr. wife Carmen Lopez, grandchildren Andre Jonathan wife Brittney Lopez- (Andre Alexander, Luca), Kenny, and Christopher, Michael Lopez (grandchildren Michael Jr. wife Sarah Lopez-(Liam, Lena), Eric Lopez, and Cicelia husband Roberto Lopez-(Anaya, Aiden, Alaia), Reynaldo Lopez and Ramon Gonzalez. His three daughters, Belinda Lopez husband Angel Rodriguez-(grandchildren Melissa Collazo-(Yamesse) Abby Rodriguez-(Xavier, Luis, Shaun), and Dixie husband Rodney Bacon Jr.-(Niko,Trey, Mariah) Damaris husband Luis Gonzalez-(Luis Jr, Brittny, Exavier) Mary Farrell-(Christopher, Nathan, Andre). Andres joins his mother and father in heaven Tomasa Vasquez and father Gomecindo Alvarez. Andres was predeceased by his brothers Nicolas Lopez, Martin Vasquez, Pablo Rivera. In addition, Andres is survived by his brothers Benito Lopez, Raul Lopez, Joaquin Vasquez, Cecilio Vasquez. Also, two sisters Louisa Lopez-Marcano and Felicita Whitson, and he will be missed by many nieces and nephews. His love and dedication reached many people, leaving a positive mark on all who knew him.
Andres will be forever remembered for his strong character, his unwavering support of his family, and the kindness he shared with all who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday in the funeral home, prior to his services.
Immediate family will gather at the funeral home after 9:00 AM.
