Angela Pagán Velez-Wong, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.  Angela was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on June 4, 1935 to Maria Velez Roman and Leocadio Pagan Torres; one of nine children.  She was preceded in death by 7 of her siblings, four sisters and 3 brothers.

In 1955 Angela moved to the Lower East Side of NYC where she lived for 25 years before relocating to Vineland where she resided for the next 51 years.  She was employed as a seamstress for many years and was a devoted member of Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Dia Panamerica in Vineland, NJ.

Angela loved traveling, returning every year to spend the winter in her beloved Puerto Rico.  She loved reading, cooking her special Spanish dishes, and was passionate about politics. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was also compassionate about her charities especially St. Jude's Children Hospital and the Veterans of America.

Angela is survived by her husband of 23 years, Marsiniano Ortiz Gonzalez and five children Betsy Vaccaro (Jim) of Montville, NJ, Evelyn Wong (Joe Ciapanna) of EHT, NJ, Elisa Monroe (Glenn) of Somers Point, NJ, Robert Wong of Vld., NJ and Johnny Wong of Somers Pt., NJ; 3 grandchildren Glenn Monroe, Jr. and Nicholas and Michael Vaccaro; 2 great grandchildren Cole and Elliana Monroe and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.  Angela also leaves behind to cherish her memory her remaining sister Carmen Delia Pagán of Hatillo, PR.

Mami we will miss hearing you tell us every time we left "ten quidado" - "take care".

A memorial service to honor Angela's legacy will be held on Saturday, October 11th, at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, NJ, visiting hours from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and service at 4:00 p.m.
