Angelita Perez-Mercado, age 85 of Pittsgrove, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Born in Maricao, Puerto Rico on July 13, 1937, Angelita lived in Vineland for about 40 years then moved to Pittsgrove, NJ for 12 years. She was a homemaker and attended Community Adult Medical Day Care Center. Angelita enjoyed watching tv especially her "novela" stories and loved spending time with her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her late husband Miguel Angel Velez in 1982 and by her grandson Negro.

Angelita is survived by her 4 loving daughters; Nilda E Velez, Myrna I Velez, Milagros Velez and Virna V Velez. Her 12 grandchildren; Elsie E Roman, Elizabeth Roman, Migdalia Roman Martinez, Angel D Mercado, Jacqueline Mercado, Martin Soto Cano, Chitin, Bitri, Johnny, Tony, Baby and by 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandbabies. Along with 7 sisters and 4 bothers.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, Vineland, with Pastor Juan Perez officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather from 9:00-11:00 am, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
