Anna L. (Swisher) Kimmel, age 95 of Vineland, NJ, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, November 15, 2025 after being in failing health.
Anna was born in Altoona, PA on December 9, 1929 to the late Edward and Sophie (Larson) Swisher. She was raised in Altoona and graduated from Altoona Catholic High School, Class of 1948. She became an office worker at Butterick Pattern Company. In 1953, after getting married, she moved to Johnstown, PA. In 1961, her and her husband moved to Vineland, NJ. She has been a Vineland resident for the past 64 years. Anna was a full-time wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family and home. She also enjoyed reading, watching television, sewing, gardening and traveling, especially to Pennsylvania and Florida, and loved trips to the beach. She was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, now known as Divine Mercy Parish.
She is survived by her four loving children, Janet McLaughlin (Tom) of Jupiter, Fla., Jean Marrongelli (Frank) of Vineland, NJ; Thomas Kimmel of Vineland, NJ; and Daniel Kimmel (Melissa) of Vineland, NJ. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Shanna (McLaughlin) Cain (husband Shaun), Joseph McLaughlin (wife Gillian), Joseph Marrongelli, Tara Marrongelli and Tyler Kimmel, along with five great-grandchildren and a niece, Debora Brown. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Paul J. Kimmel and her two brothers, Edward Swisher and Andrew Swisher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Divine Mercy Parish Church, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland, NJ, alongside her husband, Paul. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM in Church, prior to the liturgy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anna's name can be made to Divine Mercy Parish or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
