Arthur "Art" Fox Starkey Jr., age 81, of Vineland passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 after a few months spent in Autumn Lake Nursing Home, Vineland.  He died from Alzheimer's Disease. (What a waste of a beautiful mind.)

Art was born on December 17, 1942 to the late Arthur and Sarah (Schultz) Starkey, Sr. in Bridgeton, NJ.  He grew up in Cedarville, NJ.  Art graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1961.  After High School, he worked in many places as a mechanic. He retired from R & T Castellini after many years of service.  Art served in the NJ National Guard from 1964–1970.   In the late 80s through the 90's he owned his own street stock racing car which Dan Weir drove at Bridgeport Speedway.  Their motto was CAR ABUSE NOT CHILD ABUSE.  He was also a meticulous carpenter/woodworker.  He was a jack of all trades and was very good at all of them.  He could build and fix anything.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Verbarg).  Also, a niece Lori Starkey Mitchell and husband Dan, sister-in-law, Doris Schalick and her husband, Arthur.  His nephew, Steven Schalick and family and his niece, Julie Schalick Taylor and husband, Kendall.  He is also survived by his beloved dog, Nicky.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Stephen and sister-in-law, Gloria and their son, Stephen, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 East Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.  Family and friends may gather from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to the SJ Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.
