Betty Jean (Carpenter) Wells, age 85 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty Jean was born in Cape May Court House, NJ to the late William and Catherine Carpenter and she lived in Vineland the past 20 years.  She was a homemaker and member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Isidore Church of Vineland. She enjoyed horseback riding, dancing, cooking, gardening, trips to the casinos and sharing time with her family and friends.

Betty Jean was predeceased by her sister Stella Starnes.

Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Howard J. Wells of Vineland. Her daughter, Kathleen Pacitto of Tioga, Pa. and her son, Donald Hoppe of Seattle, Wash. Also her sister, Dorothy Keith of Cape May, NJ. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, including Brenda Douglass and husband Glen of Cape May, NJ

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.  Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home from 9:00-10:30 AM Saturday, prior to Betty Jean's services.
