Dr. BRUCE ALLEN MIDDLETON
August 6, 1929 - January 16, 2023

Bruce passed away peacefully on Monday evening, January 16, 2023, with son Wally and his wife Maira by his side.

Bruce was born on August 6, 1929 in Camden NJ, Raised in Collingswood NJ by his mother Marian Middleton alongside his older brother Harry. He graduated Collingswood High School and entered the United States Air Force where he served as a pilot in the Strategic Air Command. He flew KC-97 aircraft performing mid-air refueling missions during the Korean Conflict. After the war he flew for the Louisiana National Guard in New Orleans.

Bruce attended Tulane University where he attained a bachelors degree and met his future wife of 64 years Lois Burg, as she attended Loyola College. After graduation he attended New Jersey College of Medicine & Dentistry (Seton Hall) and completed his DDS. He practiced dentistry in Louisiana for several years before relocating to Vineland in 1962.

He is survived by three sons, Bruce Jr. esq, Craig, and William(Wally); two daughters in law, Diane (Coyle) Middleton of Egg Harbor Township, Maira (Roca) Middleton of Ocean City and three grandchildren: Jackson David of Egg Harbor Township, Brielle Alexandra of St. Augustine Fl, Brooke Ashleigh of Ocean City.

The family was very active in Mardi Gras carnival organizations where Bruce became the King of Prometheus. The name of which later became the namesake of his Boats. Many summer vacations were comprised of family sailing trips to Long Island Sound, New England coast and the Chesapeake Bay. Bruce was very active in boating and attained his Masters Captains license. He was very active in the service environment of Vineland. He joined the Rotary service club and served as president twice. He was President of the Vineland YMCA twice and was active in the Service Club Council.

As retirees Lois and Bruce spent time in New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana enjoying their home on the Bayou, entertaining with friends, boating and fishing. They also traveled frequently to St. Thomas USVI, sailing, snorkeling and sharing the beauty of the islands with friends. Bruce looked forward every year to his volunteer position with son Wally for the annual Yacht Club Rolex Regatta.

EVERLASTING FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21st at 11:00 am at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Monsignor John Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home.
