Carl Vernon Langley Jr., age 75 of Lyons, New Jersey passed on to be with our Lord on Monday, October 13th 2014 at Lyons Veterans Administration Nursing Home. Carl was born November 29, 1938 to Carl V. and Martha I. (Spencer) Langley Sr. and was raised in Malaga. Carl was very active in the Boy Scouts and earned the highest honors in Scouting, Eagle Scout and the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1958. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and upon discharge he decided to join the U.S. Army and served an additional five years. Carl spent most of the following years in Plainfield, NJ and Lyons V.A. Hospital and Nursing Home. He was very fond of the Nurses who cared for him. Carl had a great love of animals and children. His family was very important to him and he always shared his faith with them and his caregivers. His faith in the Lord was what carried him through many difficult health problems. Carl was predeceased by his father, Carl Sr., his sisters, Joyce Gibbs, Eileen Langley-Sudy and Paulette Langley. Survivors include his mother, Martha I. Langley, his sister, Pamela Holland and her husband Michael, and brothers, Thomas Langley and husband Morgan Hamilton and James Langley and his wife Brenda. Also ten nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21st at 10:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland with Rev. Peter Broomall officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Malaga Cemetery, Malaga. Visitation hours are 9:00-10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
