Carlos Colon, 81, of Landisville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Born on February 12th, 1944, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Carlos built a life rooted in love, hard work, and quiet dedication.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Risolina Colon, with whom he shared a beautiful journey filled with devotion and family.
He was a proud and loving father to Rosie Colon and Juan "Charlie" Colon, and a devoted father-in-law to their spouses, Eddy Cuello and Jackie Colon. He was also a cherished grandfather to Kaitlyn Gahagan (husband Sean), Adrian Cuello (wife Skye), Abigail Cuello, and Caeden, Mason, and Saige Colon. He leaves behind one beloved great-grandson, Cristiano Cuello.
Carlos is survived by his siblings Maria Luisa, Julio, Luis, Juan, Pedro, and Jesus Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his brothers Luis Ramos, Octavio, and Iran, and his sister Carmen Maria Rodriguez.
A longtime resident of Landisville, Carlos retired from Wilmad Glass, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. In retirement, he took great pride in maintaining the best yard in the neighborhood, a labor of love, that reflected his attention to detail and care for his home. He was a loyal Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed playing the lottery, always hopeful his lucky numbers would come through.
Carlos also had a special bond with his pets; Nena, Kiki, and Oreo, who brought him joy, comfort, and companionship over the years.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and deep love for his family. His legacy of quiet strength and unwavering support will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A funeral service to celebrate Carlos's life will be held on Friday May 23rd, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather from 10:00-11:00 A M on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor his memory by planting something beautiful in your own yard, just as he would have loved.
