IN LOVING MEMORY OF

In Loving Memory: Carlton G. Shaw
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carlton Shaw, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. Carlton unexpectedly passed away on July 5, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving behind a loving memory.
Carlton was born on June 23, 1949, in Kingston, Jamaica to Ruby Francis and Reginold Shaw. He was one of 13 children. As he grew older, he worked as an electrician in Jamaica, which led to a career in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba where he worked as a boiler operator. It was this job that would earn him a visa to migrate to the U.S. in the late 1980s. He then lived in New York for a short time before being encouraged by some friends to move to Vineland, New Jersey for a better job opportunity. It was from that point on that he worked for Durand Glass for 25+ years until his retirement in 2019. He was a beloved member of the One Love Gospel Ministry where he surrendered his life to the Lord.
In his wake, he left behind three children - Leroy (Pele) Shaw, Atiba Shaw, and Savannah Shaw, six grandchildren - Chevon Shaw, Karime Shaw, Jamilla Shaw, Leroy Shaw Jr., Zaire Shaw, and Atiba Shaw Jr, and two great-grandchildren - Chevanese Shaw and Nickaylia Walker. He also left behind his siblings - Carol Shaw, Colleen Shaw, Sharon Shaw, Linval Shaw, Clifton Shaw, Barrington Shaw, Fay Shaw, Jean Shaw, Nadine Hay, and Geoff Hay. Along with his dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Francis, father, Reginold Shaw, and his two sisters, Marjorie Shaw and Marcia Shaw.
In his youth, Carlton played national soccer for Santos FC in Jamaica. He had a love for music and created many friendships throughout his lifetime. He took joy in playing dominoes, watching sports, and just sitting and chatting with his buddies. He was a beloved member of the One Love Gospel Ministry under the leadership of Bishop Rupert Williams where he gave his life to the Lord. He loved worshiping and spending time with his church family.
Though we mourn the loss of Carlton, we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will live on in our memories, hearts, and the impact he made on the world. May he rest in eternal peace. He will be dearly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 22nd at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Family and friends may gather from 9:00-10:00 am at the funeral home. Carlton will be laid to rest on Saturday at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
