Carmen L. Otero, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021 at home.  She was an independent, devoted, and resourceful women who adored her sons and will forever be remembered by those who loved her.

Carmen was born and raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico on May 5th, 1946. She was a highly skilled seamstress and spent most of her time doing arts and crafts. She enjoyed her outings to the casinos with her best friend and going to flea markets collecting project supplies. She was extremely talented with her crafts and would spend the entire year preparing her floral arrangements to sell on Delsea Drive during the holidays.

Carmen was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and always encouraged them to do "good" no matter the circumstances. Her motto was "Lo malo es malo. Si vas a hacer algo, lo haces bien o no lo haces en absoluto"; Carmen was known as a "realist". She was vivacious and always made people laugh. She had a small circle of family and friends and always said, "This is all I need".

Carmen is honored by her sons Victor Fuentes, Julio Fuentes, Javier "Toni" Rentas, and Jenxys Llanos-Otero; their wives Betty Jane "BJ" Fuentes, Carmen Rentas and Linda Rosa; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace, underlying love, and legacy.

Her sons will celebrate her life on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the WAINWRIGHT-BERNHARDT FUNERAL HOME 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, New Jersey 08360. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.

Family and friends may gather beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
