Carmen Torres Sepulveda, age 94 of Vineland, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Carmen was born on July 16, 1926 to Juan Torres and Petra Sepulveda in Las Marias, Puerto Rico. She fell in love with her sweetheart, Saturnino Rivera and the two were inseparable for over 50 years, until he succumbed to his death in 1993. Together they created and raised 13 beautiful children. Carmen was a homemaker, taking pride in caring for her family. She loved to cook, knit and sew and do number puzzles in her earlier years. Above all, Carmen loved sharing time with her family. It is what she enjoyed the most and one of her final wishes, "Family".

In addition to her parents, Carmen was predeceased by her sons William and Robertito, her daughter Amparo, her sister Juanita and by her brothers Daniel, Damian and Antonio.

Carmen is survived by her 10 beloved children; Carmen L. Cortes and her husband Junior, Nelson Rivera and his wife Maritza, Narciso Rivera, Angel L. Rivera, Octavio Rivera, Rene Rivera and his wife Jocelyn, Aida Rivera, Samuel Rivera, Sylvia Rivera and Gilberto Rivera. Along with over 30 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Carmen is also survived by her sister Milagros Torres and many nieces and nephews.

Carmen was a fiercely dedicated Mom to all her children, raising them all to be men and women of good will. Family always came first for Carmen and she instilled this value to all those around her. She brought joy and laughter into our world and there is a hole left by her absence which is impossible to fill. Mom was the strongest, most resilient, passionate loving woman we know and she taught us the meaning of love, compassion and care. She was a warrior and will remain in our hearts forever as our hero.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, June 25th from 10:00-11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Deacon Roberto Rodriguez officiating. Carmen will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
