Donald J. Mikus Sr. age 77 of Pittsgrove, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Elmer Hospital. Born in Millville, NJ to the late Joseph and Harriett (Lewis) he was a resident of Pittsgrove for most of his life. Donald was previously employed by Millville Bleachery in the Dying and Finishing Department. He retired from the NJ Department of Transportation after 35 years of service as a Crew Supervisor. Donald was a member of Cross Roads Christian Ministries of Newfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling and riding cycles. Most of all, Donald enjoyed sharing time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by 2 sisters; Janet Mikus and Nancy Elliott, and his daughter-in-law, Terri (Walker) Mikus in 2008. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Harriett (Baker) Mikus of Pittsgrove. 4 children; Donald Mikus Jr. of Pittsgrove, David Mikus Sr. of Vineland, Daniel and wife Toni Mikus of Pittsgrove and Pamela and husband Terry Mastalski of Manville. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his sister, Lois Peacock of Pennsville and by his brother Daniel Mikus and wife Betty of Millville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donald's funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday November 9th at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Rev. Michael Munson and Anthony Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove. The viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
