Douglas A. Rodriguez, 60 of Vineland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully at
home on September 15, 2021.
A lifelong resident of Vineland, NJ he attended Vineland Public Schools and graduated with the
class of 1980. Douglas worked for Progresso Food since 1979 in various departments until he
was no longer able to, due to his illness. Not only was Douglas devoted to Progresso food for 38
years, but he was dedicated and devoted to the citizens of Vineland, NJ as a Special Police
Officer for 8 years. Graduating top of his class where he had a passion to give back to his
community and enjoyed meeting and helping people, especially the youth.
He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies fan but his greatest joy was being with his family
whether it be holidays, birthdays or just visits. He enjoyed cooking his famous homemade
breakfast sandwiches and being the master chef of the grill.
Douglas was married and true to the love of his life, Haydee, for 41 glorious years. They both enjoyed
family vacations, but most of all, visiting the happiest place on earth "Disney World" where many
magical memories were created. His last memorable vacation was a Disney cruise.
Douglas also had a passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved to speak to
everyone, especially his co-workers about his Savior. He was a member of Vida De Fe/Life of
Faith Church, where he enjoyed and cherished his Pastors Moises Boneta's sermons and first
lady Catherine R. Boneta's time of worship.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Haydee, his daughter Alexis Tirado (Juan), son Michael Rodriguez
(Suhainne), 3 grandchildren Carington Tirado, Mackenzie Tirado and Nehemiah Rodriguez, his
brothers in law, Benjamin Rivera, Nelson Rivera and Samuel Rivera, his mother Marcelina
Vazquez, brother Ramon Vazquez and by a host of nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his step-dad Tiburcio Vazquez, brothers Jose Vazquez, Luis Vazquez and by
his in laws Benigno and Nelly Rivera and life long friend/brother in law Israel Rivera.
Funeral services will be held at Vida De Fe/Life of Faith Church, 1115 S. Main Rd Vineland, NJ
on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Friends and Family will be welcomed from 10:00-11:00am
for viewing, 11:00-12 noon for worship service, with burial to follow at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
Douglas will surely be missed by all whose life he impacted.
