Elba (Roman) Perez, age 81 of Vineland, passed away peacefully Friday, June 16th 2017 in Bishop McCarthy Residence, surrounded by her loving children and family.
Elba was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico to the late Manuel and Martina (Crespo) Roman and she lived in Elmer most of her life.
Prior to retirement, Elba was a seamstress for Jordan Clothing for 30 years.
She enjoyed cooking, music, needle point, gardening, trips to the casinos and sharing time with her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. During her stay at Bishop McCarthy Residence she enjoyed going to Mass and praying the Rosary.
Elba was predeceased by, in addition to her parents, her loving husband Florencio Perez, her brother Angel Roman, her sisters, Annie Roman and Primitiva Rodriguez and her step-mother, Felicita Roman.
Survivors include seven children, including three daughters, Marta Tompkins (Bob), Maria Grosso (Tony) and Margarita Bennett (Ron) and four sons, Junior Perez (Sandy), Frank Perez (Lynn), Beny Perez (Linda) and Alfred Perez (Wendy). Also 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jaime Roman and Steve Perez, and four sisters, Carmen Roman, Lucy Cardona, Rose Soto and Iris Andujar, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary services of Bayada at Inspira Hospice (Woodbury) for their exceptional care and kindness during her battle with cancer. Also thank-you to the Third Floor staff at Bishop McCarthy Residence for the loving care they provided to our mother, and thank-you sisters for all your prayers.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 22nd 2017 in the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather Wednesday 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
