Our dear mother, Elisandra "Eli" Cubi Camacho, aged 52, passed peacefully on February 9, 2024. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on October 22, 1971, to Lidia Torres and Samuel Camacho. She was an exemplary mother, daughter, and friend. She has been a Vineland resident since 2001 and quickly became a well-known advocate in the community.

Eli was big hearted and vibrant, and radiated light. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She had immense passion for helping others. She was the friend who would drive you to your doctor's appointment just as freely as she would join you for lunch. Eli knew that friendships, like gardens, take work to maintain, and she was willing to put in the effort and thus got to reap the rewards. Eli enjoyed all avenues of life, including her passion for music, dancing, food, casinos, and spending time with her family and friends. She always had a smile and a genuine zest for life.

During her 15+ years of employment at PathStone Corporation, Eli advocated for seasonal and migrant farmworkers and the community at large. Even through her illness, she continued to help those who called upon her for help unselfishly. Despite her most difficult moments, Eli was her family and community's primary resource and cornerstone. She was and will continue to be an ever-present integral pillar of strength for those graced with her light.

She is survived by her children, Jose M. Cubi (Che), Manuel J. Cubi (Jossie), and Joseph Lee Cubi; her grandsons Samuel Cubi and Elian; her mother, Lidia Torres; sister Carmen Torres; brothers Samuel Camacho and Edwin Camacho; companion Joaquin Ortiz; stepchildren Omar Ortiz and Darlis Ortiz, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 pm, with Pastor Lissette Gonzalez-Sosa officiating. Interment will be private.
