Emily C. Torres-Vasquez age 88, of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12th 2015 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Emily was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Angelina (Cuevas) Torres and lived in Vineland since 1979. She attended Divine Mercy Parish of Vineland. Prior to retirement, Emily was a seamstress in New York for over 35 years. She enjoyed music, gardening, dancing, dominoes, casino trips and cooking. She especially enjoyed sharing time with her grandchildren and family. Emily was predeceased by her grandson, Luis Minguela in 2004 and great-grandson, Justin Alvarez in 2012. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, David Vasquez of Vineland, one daughter, Carmen Iris Alvarez and her husband Modesto of Vineland and three grandchildren, Angel Luis Minguela, Jeffrey alvarez and wife Kerry and Michael Alvarez and wife Jacqueline, all of Vineland. Also 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Amelia Torres of Jacksonville, Oregon. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral liturgy will be held Friday, April 17th at 11:00 AM from the Divine Mercy Parish 23 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Visitation hours are Thursday 7:00-9:00 PM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland and again Friday 10:00-11:00 AM in the CHURCH.
