Eugene "Gene" Vincent Mainiero Sr., age 93, of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ.
Gene was born in Vineland to the late Mark and Mary (DePalma) Mainiero and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Vineland High School and honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Throughout his life, Gene was known for his entrepreneurial spirit; he was self-employed in the auto parts business and was the former owner of a 7-11 in Washington Township, NJ.
A true automobile enthusiast, Gene enjoyed collecting antique cars and was a passionate fan of NASCAR racing. His heart was always drawn to the Jersey shore, where he cherished countless memories with family and friends. Above all, he found great joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.
Gene was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Marie (Sasdelli) Mainiero in 2001. He also mourned the loss of his two brothers, Mark Mainiero and his wife Marion, and Theodore "Ted" Mainiero.
Gene, a cherished family man, is survived by his four loving sons: Michael (Stacy) Mainiero, Gene (Caroline) Mainiero Jr., Ted (Gloria) Mainiero, and John (Denise) Mainiero. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 14 cherished grandchildren: Mike, Nicole, Scott, Russell, Craig, Francesca, Felicia, Anna Marie, Geno, Angelina, T.J., Christina, Nick, and Drew. Gene is also survived by many beloved great-grandchildren.
Gene will be remembered for his devotion to family and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
