Francis A. Gana, age 86 of Vineland, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Francis was born in Vineland to the late Samuel and Serene (Fiori) Gana and was a lifelong Vineland resident. He was a graduate of Glassboro State College (Rowan University) where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. Francis later earned his Master's Degree from Rutgers University and then attended Temple University in the Doctorate Program. Prior to his retirement, Francis worked as an educator of mathematics and science, a teaching principal, an administrative principal and also an adjunct professor of Glassboro State College. Francis was also a past President of the Vineland Board of Education and a member of the Planning Board of the City of Vineland. He also served as a Commissioner of the Landis Sewerage Authority. Francis attended and was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish and the Saint Barbara Chapel. Francis was predeceased by his sister, Antoinette Gorgo. Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara (Scarpa) Gana of Vineland. 2 nephews; Gary Gorgo and wife Phyllis of Voorhees and Larry Gorgo of Vineland. His niece Janet Vorndran and husband David of Millville. Francis is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:30 am at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 1010 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather on Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E.
