Francis Murray was born in Kingstree S.C. on Sept. 29th, 1938 to Daisy McElveen and Onearl Murray. Francis had brothers Charles Edward Murray, Vernon Cooper, and sister Elease Warner.

Francis moved north and lived in Philadelphia PA, and then later moved to Newfield NJ where he attended Clayton H.S. He graduated from Clayton in the class of '56 and enlisted in the Marines in August of that year. He would later say that he toured many foreign countries and did all the camping of a lifetime. Francis' tour was over in April of '58 and upon his return he met Eva Delores Dolby. She would later become his wife and they would later settle in New York City and have one son Robin Charles Murray. Francis worked for the US Postal Service and after 30 years of service he retired. He spent the remaining years of his life in New York City where he passed on October 11, 2019 at the age of 81 years.

Francis (or Frank as his loved ones called him) was a fun loving and generous individual with a learned and measured temperament. He was an avid sports lover like his brother Charles and spent many afternoons debating the merits of various teams with his brother and others. He was a much beloved member of the family and will be missed by his surviving family and friends.

Frank leaves to cherish his loving memory: son, Robin Charles Murray, brother, Vernon (Donna) Cooper, sister, Elease (Dennis) Warner. 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, significant other and caretaker, Lois Cassidy, cousin, Whilamena McElveen, and cousin families: Murray family, McElveen family, Dolby family, Bryant family, and Mabry family.
