Ruberti Jr.
April 12, 1931 – January 15, 2016
Fred A. Ruberti Jr., age 84 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the N.J. Veterans Memorial Home, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born in Vineland to the late Fred A. and Mary (Zanni) Ruberti Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Vineland. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having proudly served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Fred worked as a glass worker for Kimble Glass Co. of Vineland for over 38 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Vineland where he served as a deacon, an elder and also a Sunday school teacher. Fred enjoyed woodworking and sharing time with his family.
Fred was predeceased by his wife Betty Jo (Cheeseman) Ruberti in 2000 and by his brother Anthony Ruberti in 1992.
Fred is survived by his loving and devoted children; his son Fred A. Ruberti III and wife Donna of Clayton and his 2 daughters, Katherine Smith and husband Paul of Hi-Nella, NJ and Karen Peale and husband Chris of Pitman. 6 grandchildren; Christine Bruning (Steve), Brian Ruberti (Angela), Steven Smith (Alexandrea), Gregory Smith, Holly Peale and Shawn Peale, and by his great-granddaughter Viviana. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Angelo Ruberti and wife Carmella and Robert Ruberti, his sister Barbara Marts and husband Claude and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Jan. 19th at the First Presbyterian Church of Vineland, 800 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Rev. John D. Fordyce officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. The viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred may be made to N.J. Veterans Memorial Home Welfare Fund, 524 N.W. Blvd. Vineland, NJ 08360 c/o Recreation Dept. or to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 160 9th Ave. Runnemede, NJ 08078 or to the First Presbyterian Church of Vineland.
