IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fredezvinda "Fredy"
B. Abad-Tanda
January 4, 1954 – March 20, 2024
It is with great tenderness that we celebrate the life of our beloved, Fredezvinda (Fredy) Bondoc Abad Tanda, who passed away on March 20, 2024 at the age of 70 due to her battle with lung cancer. Fredy passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family and closest friends.
Fredy was born on January 4, 1954, in San Quintin, Pangasinan, Philippines. At the age of 22, she migrated to America with her first born Karen at 3 years old and resided in Jersey City, NJ. Fredy truly had humble beginnings to embody the American dream. She started earning her living as a domestic housekeeper in NYC for two households. Traveling by train everyday and often taking work home to include laundry and ironing so she could balance work and family life. She later found her niche in Food Service working in several nursing homes and hospitals as a dishwasher. During her time off, she worked to get the training and certification needed and worked her way up and retired as a Food Servicer Manager. She faithfully stayed in the industry for over 30 years and loved every minute of it. So much she retired and did it part time for over 2 years.
Fredy lived life to the fullest and was a woman with a spontaneous nature. She had a passion for Filipino cooking and eating, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of any gathering. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, reading the Bible, shopping, watching action packed movies and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Fredy was a kind and generous soul, always putting others' needs before her own. She never forgot where she came from and continually supported her family in the Philippines till her last day on earth. Her last dying wish to her children was to assist her nephew's son in coming to the US to continue the Bondoc legacy. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her jovial spirit, warm personality and serving nature. She also found solace and strength in the Bible. She embodied the Christian ethos of love and service, as exemplified in Galatians 5:13, "Serve one another humbly through love."
Fredy is lovingly remembered by her husband, Kuldip Tanda (60); 6 children [Karen Grace Pidgeon (50), Eduardo (Bobby) B Abad (47), Arlene Abad Martinezrodrigues (45), Kevin Bondoc Abad (44), Prabhjot (Laddi) Tanda (18) and Lovejot (Lovey) Tanda (16)]; daughter in-law [Melissa Lynne Abad (42)]; son in-laws [Kevin Pidgeon (51) and Alejandro (Alex) Benjamin Martinezrodrigues (38)]; 5 grandchildren [Chloe Jo Schuster (24), Nevada Pidgeon (20), Kailyn Abad (18), Genevieve Pidgeon (17) and William Abad Schuster (17)]; brothers [Christopher Bondoc, Federico Bondoc and Larry Bondoc]; sister [Imelda Bondoc]; dear friends [Eduardo B Abad Sr, Tess Parinas and Amy Walsh] and numerous family members and friends in the Philippines and Canada, all will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life service at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LUNGevity in memory of Fredezvinda Bondoc Abad Tanda. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love and support!
