George Fedirko, age 89 of Vineland passed away Thursday, Oct. 6th 2011 at home, after a lengthy illness. George was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Alexander and Helen (Mozola) Fedirko and lived in Vineland since 1984. George graduated from Jefferson High School in Elizabeth and later attended both Union College and Newark College of Engineering. George was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European and Asian Theaters and specifically the Battle of Normandy during WW2. Prior to retirement, he was an Industrial Engineer for Singer Manufacturing Co. of Elizabeth for 30 years. After retirement, he did Consulting work for various corporations on the East Coast. George was also an adjunct Professor at Cumberland County College. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer and reader. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Nancy (Hixson) Fedirko of Vineland. One daughter, Lynn Berhalter ThD and her husband Donnie Morrison of Hackensack, step-daughter, Diane Seabock of Millville and two step-sons, Douglas F. Seabock of Richland and Scott C. Seabock and his wife Kim of Mauricetown. He is survived also by his brother, Mike Fedirko of Linden and sister, Anne Polewchak of Colts Neck and two grandchildren, Sara and Nicholas Seabock, both at home. Also two nieces, Lisa and Evan Polewchak PhD. Funeral liturgy will be held Monday, Oct. 10th at 11:00 am from Divine Mercy Parish 23 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland. Visitation hours are 10:00-11:00 AM Monday at the Church prior to the liturgy. Burial will follow in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Twp.
