IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald Martin
Simon
February 14, 1935 – March 10, 2018
Gerald M. Simon, age 83 of Vineland, NJ, passed away after a brief illness on March 10th, 2018 at Inspire Medical Center in Vineland.
Jerry, (as he was known) was born in Camden, NJ, on February 14th, 1935, to the late William and Lillian (Cohen) Simon.
The birth and death of this wonderful gentleman is not nearly as relevant as all the days and nights that he lived to the fullest with his beloved wife Marie. They enjoyed fastidious outings together by carefully coordinating their outfits each and every day. You could often see them at the Maplewood many nights either alone or entertaining their many friends. Jerry always loved to tell hilarious jokes that would bring people to their knees. He was an extraordinarily funny guy.
Jerry served in the United States Army for several years and later in his career he worked as an executive sales representative in the Beauty Salon business. Which is where he met his beautiful wife Marie. They were married for 48 years. He later worked for the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, NJ. After retirement, he worked on a part-time basis for the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home.
Jerry was an avid sports fan rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies, the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. He always had more than one team that fulfilled his passion for baseball and football.
He is survived by his sisters-in-law; Adeline Gubitosi, Concetta Gubitosi of Buena, NJ and Lynn Simon of Cherry Hill, NJ. Nieces and Nephews, Stephanie and Bill Lenchinsky of Upper Montclair, NJ. Paula and Dan Mayo of Vineland, NJ and Jonathon and Jeffrey Simon of Cherry Hill, NJ. Great nieces and nephews Alexandra Lenchinsky, Austin and Harrison Mayo and Judah and Jace Simon.
Jerry lived a very happy and full life and we are honored to celebrate his memory of the dash between the day he entered this world and the day he left it. Funeral services are private.
The family requests all donations be made to Marie and Jerry's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Located at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee. Please make donations in their name.
