Gloria M. Cunningham, 91, originally of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the Mescalero Care Center, Mescalero, NM.

Gloria was born in Vineland, NJ on January 30, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Alice (Trasferini) Mercoli.

Gloria attended and excelled at Sacred Heart High School where she graduated in 1949. Gloria worked for the State of New Jersey as a transportation driver and later became a Transportation Supervisor with Human Services in the Resident Training Division teaching defensive driving courses. She retired after more than 15 years of service. She enjoyed water skiing and was often driving the boat. Her active mind continued to outsmart the puzzles she enjoyed playing on her iPad. Gloria loved being with her family and friends, especially volunteering at the Holly City Regional Senior Center where she loved to cook. She was at her happiest while doing crosswords, sewing, knitting and crocheting items for those she cherished as well as attending Sunday Mass. She volunteered at her church and at her voting precinct during local and national elections. Gloria was always ready to help her family and friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her son, Thomas Motter. She is survived by two sons, Robert and daughter-in-law Lila Motter of Winston Salem, NC. and Edward Motter of Alamogordo, NM. Also five loving grandchildren, Arianne, Megan, Ethan, Mathew and Natalie and two great-grandchildren, Ila and Nina Motter.

A Memorial Church Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church 621 Dock St. Millville, on Saturday March 18, 2023  at 11:00 AM followed by her inurnment at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery, Landisville.

Family and friends may gather from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, prior to the Mass on Saturday.
