Guadalupe Medina, age 99 of Vineland, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Guadalupe was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Juana (Vera) Medina. He was previously a resident of Hoboken, NJ prior to moving to Vineland 45 years ago. Guadalupe was an elder, head deacon and one of the founders of Panamericana Seventh Day Adventist Church of Vineland. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed by Progresso Foods of Vineland for 18 years. Guadalupe enjoyed farming, gardening and sharing time with his family. Guadalupe was predeceased by his wife Gumersinda (Fuentes) Medina in 2001 and by his two children; Lydia Medina and Eliezer Medina. Guadalupe is survived by his two sons; Neftali Medina and wife Marisa (Olguin) of Vineland and Israel Medina of Rutherford, NJ. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday July 31st at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Pastor Raul Rivero officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home.
