Obituary

Harriett Eleanor Mikus, age 82 of Pittsgrove Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Harriet was born in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Harry and Ida Mae (Hanby) Baker, she was known to all who loved her as Eleanor. She grew up on the Cohansey River and loved to be by the water.  Eleanor served the Lord faithfully for 39 years, her home church was the Crossroads Christian Ministries of Newfield, NJ.

She was a true outdoors woman, she loved camping and fishing. She enjoyed sewing, the American Flag and eating Italian subs with potato chips. Eleanor took the time to stop and smell the flowers, she found peace in admiring them and holding them.  Above all, Eleanor cherished her time shared with her children and grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Donald Mikus Sr. who passed in 2012. She was also predeceased by her son Donald Mikus Jr. in 2013 and by her daughter-in-law Terri Mikus in 2008 and by her sister Alma Force.

Eleanor is survived by her 3 beloved children; 2 sons David Mikus Sr. and his wife Marivel and Daniel Mikus and his wife Toni and by her daughter Pamela (Mikus) Mastalski. She is also survived by her treasured 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her 2 sisters; Freda Capoferri and Bonnie Blizzard and by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Betty Mikus.

Mom, I will always remember going on camping and fishing trips with our family and relatives. Your delicious food, paintings and your love of hummingbirds and nature. We will sadly miss our Mom's home cooked meals, especially her breakfast, her kind and caring heart and her love for God and her family.

A private graveside service will be held at Olivet Cemetery.
