IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen Mary
Nimohay
July 23, 1948 – January 2, 2021
Helen Mary Nimohay, born Heliena Maria Sedzikowski, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the age of 72.
Helen was born in Salzgitter, Germany on July 23, 1948. At the age of 10, she came to America with her mother and siblings. Helen lived in Northampton, Massachusetts at 141 Fair St. with her mother. On September 11, 1976, she married William Nimohay and lived together where they had 3 beautiful children, before moving to New Jersey in 1988. After a short time, William, Helen, her mother and their 3 children moved to William's family homestead on Friendship Rd. in Landisville, New Jersey.
Helen was a graduate of Northampton High School and also Mansfield Beauty Academy. She was certified by the State of New Jersey in cosmetology and hair styling with recognition as #1 hairdresser. Helen retired at the age of 66.
Helen had many delights that made her happy in life. Helen kept her Polish heritage very prominent in her everyday life, from listening to Polish music to cooking old family recipes handed down from her mother. She was very fond of the ocean, she loved going to the beach with her children and grandchildren. The peacefulness of the ocean waves was very soothing to her. She also enjoyed gardening and loved flowers of all kinds.
Helen was a guiding light to her children and grandchildren. She always strived to make sure that they were happy and a priority every day. She always made sure that our souls were nourished, not only with food, but with the love that she deeply felt for her family. Helen always pushed her children and grandchildren to believe in themselves and be the best they could be. She was inspired by the compassion that St. Jude's Hospital provided for children and their families. Helen will be greatly missed by family and friends with her warm smile, quiet voice and passionate feeling towards life that will never be forgotten.
Helen is survived by her husband William A. Nimohay of Landisville, NJ, her daughter Jaclyn Ayala and husband Eduardo of Boca Raton, Fl., her son William A. Nimohay II and wife Dina of Landisville, NJ, and her daughter Marie Castro of Vineland, NJ. Helen is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Jasmine, Joshua, Luke, Jace, Gabriel and Celestyna.
