Herminia Ruiz-Serrano, age 86 of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland.

Herminia was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Alejandro and Herminia (Serrano) Ruiz and was a resident of Vineland for most of her life.  Prior to her retirement, Herminia was employed by Progresso Foods of Vineland for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish and enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her dog "Pamela".  Of all the things Herminia enjoyed throughout her life, she was happiest while sharing time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Jose Vera, her longtime companion Jose Diaz, her grandson Rafael Morales Jr. and by her Godson Nelson Muniz.

Herminia is survived by her 2 daughters; Grace Vera and Silvia Cordero and husband Artemio, all of Vineland.  Her 4 grandchildren; Andres Perez of Vineland, Nancy Perez and husband Christian Gonzalez of Aguada, P.R., Isabell (Lebron) Lavan and husband Fred and Augustine Lebron, all of Vineland.  She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, her special nephews Leonardo Muriente and wife Ivette of Vineland and by her 2 sisters; Nelida Ruiz of Vineland and Virginia Ruiz of Utuado, Puerto Rico.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.  Family and friends may gather on Tuesday from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.
