IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hilda
Delgado-Leon

In Loving Memory of Hilda Delgado-Leon
March 27, 1937 – August 15, 2025
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Hilda Delgado-Leon, born on March 27, 1937, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2025, while spending her final days at Autumn Lake Nursing Home. She passed peacefully with her children by her side.
Hilda was married to the late Sotero Delgado for over 50 years. She was the daughter of Vidal Leon and Sarah Rivera, and was preceded in death by her brother Raul Leon and sisters Manuela Leon and Vilma Santiago.
She is survived by her sister Carmen Ana Santiago, who resides in Puerto Rico. She leaves behind her seven loving children: Mayra Maldonado-Gutierrez, Maribel Gutierrez, Angel V. Gutierrez (Carolyn), Diana Gutierrez-Ramos (Pedro), Eddie Gutierrez (Maria), John Delgado and Mark Delgado. Hilda was blessed with many grandchildren: Delilah, Manuelito, Miladys, Peter, Richard, Tanialy, Melissa, Pedro "Junito", Christina, Jennifer, Manny-Eddie, and Jonathan, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who cherished her deeply.
Hilda was loved by all who knew her. Her contagious smile lit up every room, and everyone she met quickly became family. After moving to Vineland from Puerto Rico, she worked as a seamstress for a military clothing company. She was a devoted member of All The Nations Church, where she loved to sing, read her Bible, and share her favorite scripture, Psalm 23. Her hobbies included cooking on weekends with her family gathered around the table, traveling, needlepoint, crocheting, and gardening.
Hilda was feisty, strong in her faith, and taught her family that nothing is impossible through Christ. She was truly a prayer warrior. Mom, you will be deeply missed, but your love, faith, and strength will live on in all of us.
Family and friends are invited to gather for an evening viewing on Tuesday, August 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, located at 1024 E. Landis Ave, Vineland. There will be another viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Jerry Bermudez of All The Nations AG Church. Following the service, Hilda will be laid to rest in Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
