Jack "John" J. Burton, age 72 of Pittsgrove, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born in Vineland to the late LeRoy and Ruth A. (Small) Burton and was a resident of Pittsgrove for 53 years.  Prior to his retirement, Jack worked as a diesel mechanic with Armellini Express Lines for 21 years.  He was also employed by Ware's United Van Lines for 13 years.  Jack's true passion was owning and racing stock/sprint cars throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.  He also enjoyed bowling and playing softball in various men's leagues.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marjorie (Burrows) Burton of Pittsgrove.  His two daughters; Deborah Burton and Jacquie Williams and husband Herb, all of Millville.  He is also survived by his two grandchildren; Taylor Rowe and Chelsea Williams and by several nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Sat. Aug.27 ^th at 10:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Msgr. John Burton officiating.  Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove.  Family and friends will be received on Friday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
