James "Jim" E. Branca, age 68 of Newfield, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, after a brief illness.

Jim was born in Millville to the late Nunzi and Janice (Cox) Branca and was a lifelong resident of Newfield.  He was a US Army Veteran and served during the 1970's.  Prior to his retirement in 2003, Jim worked as a lineman with N.J. Bell Telephone Co./Verizon for over 31 years.  He was a former member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Newfield Fire Co.  Jim was an avid Phillies fan and was well known for taking care of his lawn.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, JoAnne (Logan) Branca of Newfield.  His daughter, Lisa (Branca) Giannascoli of Newfield, along with his 2 granddaughters; Natalie Giannascoli and Alyssa Giannascoli.  He is also survived by his sister Barbara DeMarco of Newfield and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27 ^th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland.  Burial will follow in Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery.  The viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Newfield Ambulance or the Newfield Fire Department, both at 18 Catawba Ave. Newfield, NJ 08344.
