Obituary

James J. Farinaccio, age 83 of Richland, went on to the happy hunting grounds to join his life partner Sandra and his hunting partner Beau, his Brittany spaniel. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at home.

Jim was born in Vineland, NJ at Newcomb Hospital on September 25, 1941 to the late Joseph A. Farinaccio and Doris K (Hawes) Satiri. He was a graduate of Vineland High School with the Class of 1959.  He served his country with honor in the US Army and Army Reserves from February 1964 to 1970, achieving the rank of Spec 4 E-4.

Jim's career was marked by dedication and service as a Deputy Conservation Officer at the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife from 1982 to 2004, where he earned several citations and awards, including the Deputy Conservation Officer of the Year award in 1996. He was a proud member of New Jersey Conservation Officers Association and also a member of the North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association.

Jim also was a member of IBEW Local 351 from 1969 – present. He worked as an instructor for JATC Local 592 for 10 years and secretary and shop steward for Industrial Union and Marine Shop Building workers of America. As an electrician, Jim was project manager for Scalfo Electric until his retirement in 1997.

He was the former Captain of the Richland Volunteer Fire Company and the past President of the New Jersey State Exempt Fireman's Association.

His passion for the outdoors was evident through his involvement and membership of the Richland Sportsman Club, Milmay Gun Club and the Hickory Gun Club. He was a past Chairman on the board of directors of the Cumberland County Federation of Sportsmen Clubs and a charter member and trustee of the South Jersey Sportsmen Jamboree. Jim was also a National Rifle Association Benefactor member, life member of the North America Hunting Club, member of the Quality Deer Management Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a member of Ducks Unlimited and lastly the Pine Belt Trap and Skeet Club.

Jim also enjoyed camping and belonged to Family Motor Coach Association, Allegro Club, Good Sam Club and the Thousand Trails and Travel Resorts of America.

Above all of his recreations and hobbies, Jim loved to laugh and share a good time with his family and friends. He would be found at Uncle Ricky's as part of the Sunday breakfast club and for witches Wednesday.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra (Wozunk) Farinaccio, in 2014, his mother Doris (Hawes) Satiri, father Joseph Farinaccio, and step-father Nello Satiri.

Jim is survived by his 3 beloved children; Kimberly Valdiseri (Jeff), James "Jim" Farinaccio (Tonya) and Shane Farinaccio, all of Vineland. His 6 adored grandchildren; Sarah Farinaccio, Victoria Valdiseri, Sabrina Farinaccio, Jeffrey Valdiseri, Dylan Farinaccio and Trevor Farinaccio. Jim will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Annete McIntosh of Buena and his 2 step-brothers; Paul Farinaccio (Carol) of Vineland and Joseph Farinaccio (Joanie) of Pennsville.

The viewing will be held on Friday, January 31st from 10:00 – 12:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Following the service, Jim will be laid to rest with Army honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Vineland.
