Jesus Echevarria, 89 of Vineland passed away on Friday, May 4th 2012 in S.J. Extended Care, Bridgeton following a lengthy illness. Jesus was born on March 25, 1923 in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and lived in Vineland most of his life. He was one of the original pioneers of the Vineland Seventh Day Adventist Church and more recently a founder and active member of the Inglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia Panamericana serving as first Deacon and Elder. Jesus is survived by his wife Hilda (Acosta) Echevarria of Vineland and eight children, Bert (Elsa) of Florida, Samuel (Ana) , Hilda (Beny) , Doris (Willie) , Frank (Sandra), Robert (Yvette) and Evelyn (Juan), all of Vineland and Moses (Kelly) of Hopewell Twp. Two Sisters- Lala Echevarria of Puerto Rico and Ada Echevarria of Florida, and Brother- Antonio Echevarria of Puerto Rico, as well as 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9th at 10:00 am from the Inglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia Panamericana 765 S. Sixth St. Vineland with Rev. Carlos Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Visitation hours are Tuesday 7:00-9:00 pm and again Wednesday 9:00-10:00 am in the Church.
