In Loving Memory of Joan Ficcaglia

Joan Ficcaglia, age 76, of Turnersville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Samaritan Hospice Care in Voorhees, NJ.

Born on Sunday, August 27, 1950, in Catchings, now known as Delta City, Mississippi, Joan was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Shivers) Ratcliff. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple things and, most of all, in the people she loved.

Joan was married to the late Ferdinand “Doug” Ficcaglia, and together they shared a life and family that remained at the heart of her world. She had a special appreciation for preserving memories, enjoying scrap-booking and holding close the treasured moments and milestones of those she loved. She also found quiet enjoyment in working on word puzzles, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family. Whether sharing stories, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying one another’s company, those moments were what Joan cherished most.

Joan's love will live on through the memories she created and the family she held so dear. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand “Doug” Ficcaglia, and her daughter, Vanessa Ann.

She leaves behind her beloved son, Douglas A. Ficcaglia, and his wife, Dana; her two cherished grandchildren, Anthony F. S. (Alyssa) and Jenna E. (Jack); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Nico and Eliana who all lovingly knew her as “Gram”. Each held a special place in Joan’s heart, and her love for them will remain a lasting part of their lives.
