John J. George, age 77 of Newfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late George G. and Mary P. (Masorli) George. He was a graduate of Delsea Regional High School with the Class of 1965. John earned his Master of Science and Strategic Leadership degree from Neumann College in 2004. Before relocating to Newfield 13 years ago, he was a resident of Franklinville for 26 years. John was a proud veteran of the US Airforce and served as a Sargent and jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by SJ Gas for 38 years as a manager of the distribution operations in the Glassboro division. Most recently John taught OSHA safety for Delaware Valley Safety Council. Currently, John was serving on the Newfield Borough Planning and Zoning Board. He was a member of the American Legion in Glassboro, The American Welding Society and the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition. John was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Church of St. Michael. He enjoyed model train collecting and sharing time with his beloved family.

John is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, AnneMarie (Behler) George of Newfield, his 3 daughters; Stacey George of Glassboro, Debra Short of Huntingdon Valley, PA and Angela Dare of Mullica Hill, NJ. His 3 cherished granddaughters; Gianna, Alyssa and Sophia. John will be missed by "Ginger" his beloved beagle and best friend.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 12 ^th at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Church of St. Michael, 504 S. West Ave. Minotola, NJ. Interment will follow in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro, NJ. Family and friends may gather for the viewing from 9:00-10:45 am in Church, prior to the Mass.
