John "Happy" Gilroy, 51 of Vineland, NJ passed away on December 28, 2017.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, John graduated in 1987 from Hermitage High School in Richmond, VA.  He was employed by the City of Vineland Electric Utility for close to 27 years.  John was a member of the Defenders LEMC and the South Jersey Mustang Club, and also was a former volunteer firefighter for South Vineland Co. 2.  "Happy" enjoyed life to the fullest and will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his tall tales and his huge heart.  He had several hobbies that he enjoyed including fishing, hunting and kayaking.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and was also looking forward to the completion of his Alaskan heritage back piece tattoo.

John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Laura (Moschetti) Gilroy and his daughter Megan Gilroy.  He is also survived by his brother, Robert; brother-in-law, Benny Moschetti; sisters-in-law, Sharon Ruberti and her husband David and JoAnne Denby.  Along with several nieces, nephews, close friends and especially his boys "Bocce Bruno" and "Dolce Vita."

John was predeceased by his parents, Robert C. Gilroy and Mary Elaine Campbell and his beloved canine, Bella Lucia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, NJ.  Family and friends may gather on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and again on Wednesday morning from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
