Jose A. Mendez Jr.

Jose A. Mendez Jr., 45, of Vineland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Cooper Medical Center in Camden.

Born in Vineland, Jose was the beloved son of Jose A. Mendez Sr. and Julia (Gomez) Torres. A lifelong resident of Vineland, he was a proud graduate of Vineland High School, Class of 1999.

Jose dedicated many years working as a FedEx driver and more recently found fulfillment as a self-employed reseller. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Transformation Church in Bridgeton, NJ. Jose found joy in listening to worship music, playing basketball, and watching football. He was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Eagles. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, “Church” and “Pearl.” Above all, Jose treasured the time he spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Rosa (Carreras) Mendez of Vineland; his eight cherished children, Ayasia, Aleesa, Robinson, Alexia, Yanelis, Jose III, Ayrihanna, and Isaiah; his brother, Victor Rodriguez; his sister, Angie Mendez, both of Vineland; and his parents, Jose A. Mendez Sr. and Julia Torres, along with her husband, Federico.

Jose will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and the love he gave so freely to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in his family, and in the countless lives he touched with his warmth, strength, and devotion.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Transformation Church, 424 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton, NJ. Interment will follow at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
