Jose Ernesto Perez, age 83 of Vineland (formerly of Landisville) went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico to the late Mercedes and Ruberta (Santiago) Perez and he lived in Landisville most of his life.  He was owner/operator of Perez Market on Harding Highway (Route 40) Landisville for over 30 years. He catered to many of the area farm workers and local community.

Survivors include his loving wife of many years, Margarita (Ruiz) Perez of Vineland. Eight children, Iris (Perez) Echevarria of Vineland, Jose Antonio Perez (Evelyn) of Vineland, Ernesto Perez (Myra) of Jacksonville, Fla., Aida Perez (Erick) of Vineland, Blanca Perez of Bridgeton, Luiz Perez (Michelle) of Landisville, Elizabeth Perez of Clewiston, Fla. and Minerva Scogna (Ben) of Newfield. Also 3 sisters, 4 brothers, 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.  Family and friends may gather on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 AM in the funeral home.
