Jose A. Rivera, age 58 of Vineland, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Cooper Medical Center, Camden, NJ. He was known best to his family and friends as Toñito.

He was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on April 1, 1964 to Marcelino "Chelin" Rivera and Dionisia "Leonor" Arroyo.
Toñito touched many lives and was a great friend, an awesome co-worker and will be missed by everyone, especially his best friend Alejandro Aival.

Toñito worked at Safeway Freezers for 12 years and was given the nickname "Whatever", for the simple reason that every time he was asked to do something he would reply "whatever". Toñito enjoyed playing the lottery and listening to music from the speaker he carried with him. He was an avid jokester and the center of family gatherings. Family was always first for Toñito.

Jose is survived by his son, Jose A. Rivera Jr., his loving parents, Marcelino "Chelin" Rivera and Dionisia "Leonor" Arroyo, and his 3 beloved siblings; Manuel Ruiz, Luz Rivera and Alma Rivera and Samuel Benitez, whom Toñito loved as a brother. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews and his friend Alejandro Aival.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, July 24th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Toñito will be laid to rest in Cementerio Municipal de Yabucoa, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.
