Jose A. Santiago-Vargas, age 90 of Vineland, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Jose was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico to the late Juan B. and Juana (Vargas) Santiago and was a resident of Vineland for the past 11 years. Prior to retirement, Jose worked as a custodian for Bella Vista Hospital in Mayaguez, P.R. for over 23 years. He was a member of the Spanish 7th Day Adventist Church of Vineland. Jose enjoyed music and playing the harmonica and accordion. Jose was predeceased by his wife Luz Gonzalez in 2002. Jose is survived by his son, Alfredo Rivera, his 3 daughters; Elizabeth Rivera, Elisa Cruz and Angela Rivera. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Ricky, Jayson and Enyi Cordero and a great-grandson, Yandel Cordero. The funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 9th at 10:00 am at the Spanish 7th Day Adventist Church of Vineland, 230 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
