Joseph Walter Gavigan, 84 CEO Babbit Mfg. Co. Inc. Joseph Walter Gavigan 84, of Vineland passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 He was born and raised in Vineland where he was a lifelong resident. Joseph was a devoted husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Joseph played football for the Clayton Team, Atlantic City's Semi-pro League and was honored by his league peers. His family was the pride and joy of his life, and he always said "he was a lucky man." Joseph was a proud member of N.E.D.S Social Club, and had many dear friends. He enjoyed sports, bird watching, and many vacation adventures with the love of his life, Lois. He is predeceased by his brother Jack Gavigan in 1973. Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Lois Jane (Babbitt) Gavigan, two daughters; Megory (Gavigan) Rabbai and husband Matteo and Kathleen (Gavigan) Downey and husband Bill. Three sons; Brian Gavigan and wife Patti (Locicero), Steven Gavigan and wife Denise (Turner) and Ron Gavigan and wife Mary Lou (Ragan), all of Vineland. Eleven grandchildren; Meghan (Rabbai) Pantalione and husband Michael, Matteo Rabbai and wife Brittany (Ewan), Sean Gavigan, Jacob Gavigan, Jenna Gavigan, Vincent Gavigan, Rachel Gavigan, Lukas Gavigan, Billy Downey, Jack Downey and Katherine Downey. Three great-grandchildren; Michael Pantalione III, Gavin Pantalione and Rylin Rabbai, all of Vineland. Also by his sister Betty Milita of Newtown, PA and his brother, Walter Gavigan of Ocean City. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Christ the Good Sheppard Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 1010 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. An evening viewing will be held on Friday from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E.
